Cyclone Biporjoy recently struck the coastal regions of Pakistan, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. With its ferocious winds and heavy rainfall, the cyclone posed a significant threat to lives and infrastructure. Understanding Cyclone Biporjoy:

Severe Cyclonic Storm, Biporjoy formed over East Central of Arabian Sea, starting with minor depression on June 4th, 2023, turned into an extremely severe cyclonic storm on June 10th, 2023. The surface winds were recorded at 195km/h. The trajectory of the cyclone indicated a landfall in India and Pakistan.

Now, on June 16, 2023, Biporjoy after crossing the Indian Gujrat coast has weakened and fall into a Severe Cyclone System near Jakhau Port India. It lies near Latitude 23.8°N & Longitude 69.4°E according to Pakistan Meteorological Department at a distance of 270km east of Karachi, 200 km southeast of Keti Bandar and 180 km southeast of Thatta. The associated maximum sustained surface winds are now weakened to 80-100 km/h. According to the reports provided by the NDMA, the sea conditions are tough. The maximum expected wave heights in northeast Arabian Sea can be around 30 feet.

The trajectory of cyclone was projected towards northward until June 14, later it recurved north-eastward towards Keti Bunder and the Indian Gujarat coast on June 15.
